Glacier Portraits: A Captivating Special Exhibition at the National Park Center

Visitors to the National Park Center can currently experience the impressive photo exhibition Glacier Portraits by Georg Oberweger. Created since 2022, the photographs invite viewers to rethink the relationship between humans and glaciers. In his work, Oberweger combines portraits of people from different generations with fascinating images of glacier landscapes, drawing parallels between human skin and the "skin of the Earth"—the glacier.

The exhibition not only underscores the urgency of environmental protection but also highlights humanity’s personal connection to nature. Through each portrait and every gaze—even when the subjects’ eyes are often closed—the art calls for responsibility towards future generations.

Open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the National Park Center Hohe Tauern in Mittersill. Free admission.
